15 December 2007: Kenya have broken into the top six ranked Sevens teams in the world.
This achievement is the result of the team’s performances in the opening two tournaments of the International Rugby Board Sevens World Series in the United Arab Emirates and South Africa.
In the opening tournament, Virgin Atlantic Kenya collected four points by bowing out to South Africa and Argentina in the main cup quarter final and Plate semi-final. They went one better in George, South Africa by winning the Plate and eight points.
With 12 points in the bag, Kenya now lie joint fifth in the table, level with England who have a better try count. They lead Samoa and Australia.
