22 November 2007: Francis Wanga, of Nairobi, believes Africa is lagging behind in the development of rugby. In order to raise standards and secure more places at the Rugby World Cup, he proposes the creation of a regular African tournament, similar to the Six Nations in the northern hemisphere and the Tri-Nations in the southern hemisphere.

He says: “The ten top African countries, outside South Africa, are Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Morocco, Namibia, Senegal, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe. We can organise a round robin competition, where by every country plays at least two matches per month.”
