Thair el Heri, from Libya, writes: “The first official rugby tournament in Libya was held in Tripoli on January 25 and 26, 2008. The event was supported by the Tripoli Post newspaper and was won by the team from Benghazi team, who defeated a XV from Tripoli.”
“We have many plans for the future, and hope to receive support from CAR and the IRB, most notably in the following areas: the recruitment and training of referees, provision of a standard tournament manual and the laws of the game in Arabic.”
