Tanzanian teams dominate Kili Sevens

Arusha, 23 October : Tanzanian teams dominated the Kilimanjaro Sevens held at Moshi over the weekend with all three trophies going to local teams. Hosts Moshi won the Cup after beating the very powerful Mombassa 22-nil in a one sided final on Saturday afternoon. 2005 Champions Arusha Rhinos were beaten by Mombassa in the semi-final of the Cup Competition but then made amends by clinching the Plate Trophy after a 40-nil victory over Mombassa B in the final. Dar Leopards then made it three from three taking the Bowl Final with a five-nil win over Moshi B.

The 11 th edition of the Kili Sevens was played in torrential rain. The event also featured the participation of three teams made up from local street children. The Street Children Project is an initiative by Ben Wiggins, Chairman of the Moshi Kilicats and member of the Tanzanian National team.
